Physical Education and Sport have a high profile at Parbold Douglas CE Academy.
Mrs Lightbody is our curriculum leader for PE. She is responsible for the development of our PE curriculum and, alongside Mr Boden (our extra-curricular lead), takes a lead role in organising the wide range of sports, clubs and opportunities for physical activity across the school. Mrs Lightbody also works alongside the whole senior leadership team to make effective use of the additional funding given to schools by the government to raise the profile and standard of sports and PE across the school. This fund (the PE and sport premium) is designed to support schools to deliver on the government's commitment to ensuring that children and young people have access to at least 60 minutes of sport and physical activity per day, with a recommendation of 30 minutes of this delivered during the school day.
Our strategic plan for the use of PE and sport premium can be found below. We have also published information about the impact of our PE and sport premium in recent academic years.
