Academy Trust and Governance

Academy Trust Vision

The Academy Trust has an overarching vision which then feeds into the Academy Vision and the Nursery Vision.

Parbold Douglas Academy Trust is a Standalone Academy Trust (SAT) with one SAT - Parbold Douglas CE Academy.

It has a subsidiary, for whom some of the Directors of the Academy Trust are also the Directors of the subsidiary - Parbold Douglas Nursery.

Academy Trust - Strategic Strands and Development Plan

The Academy Trust has a three-year Trust Development Plan which will run from 2026 - 2029. This plan has taken the strategic strands [Children at the Centre, Sustaining and Evolving for the Future, Faithful Stewardship, Building God’s Kingdom] from the vision document and thought about how to meet the vision and strategic goals over the next three years.

Over the next three (2026-2029), 12 objectives (3 for each strand) will support the trust's ongoing development. A more comprehensive document is used by the Academy Trust, including yearly Trust Development Plans.

Governance at Parbold Douglas is based on six key principles:

Strategic leadership that sets and champions vision, ethos and strategy.

Accountability that drives up educational standards and financial performance.

People with the right skills, experience, qualities and capacity.

Structures that reinforce clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

Compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.

Evaluation to monitor and improve the quality and impact of governance.
